Carmela Group Limited provides DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) shipping services to Metropolitan France (including Corsica, excluding overseas territories). Upon arrival in France, customs duties, French VAT (TVA), and any other import taxes are the sole responsibility of the recipient (customer) and must be paid at the time of customs clearance.

For your reference only, an estimated amount for duties and VAT will be displayed on the checkout page prior to payment. The actual tax amount is determined by French customs and tax authorities and may vary depending on product classification, exchange rate fluctuations, or applicable regulations.

 

1. Shipping Rate Calculation Rules (France-Specific)

• Chargeable Weight: The higher of actual weight and volumetric weight (length × width × height in cm ÷ 5000), rounded up to the next whole kilogram (any fraction of a kilogram is charged as 1 full kg).

  Formula (for 2 kg – 19 kg): Rate per kg = 130.0 – 3.2 × (chargeable kg – 1) Total freight = chargeable kg × rate per kg.

 

2. Common Weight Rounding Examples

• 0.01 kg – 1.00 kg → Charged as 1 kg → 130.0 RMB
• 1.01 kg – 1.99 kg → Charged as 2 kg → 253.6 RMB
• 1.32 kg → Charged as 2 kg → 253.6 RMB
• 19.01 kg – 19.99 kg → Charged as 20 kg → 1,420.0 RMB (enters fixed 20 kg+ rate)
• 20.5 kg → Charged as 21 kg → 1,491.0 RMB (21 × 71.0)

3. Quick Weight Range Recommendations

• 1–5 kg: Suitable for samples, test orders, or urgent shipments (higher per-kg rate)
• 6–19 kg: Improving cost efficiency as weight increases
• 20 kg and above: Highly recommended – fixed lowest rate of 71.0 RMB/kg; larger volumes offer greater savings

4. Important Notes

• Freight charges (in RMB) are calculated and displayed automatically and in real time on the checkout page based on the actual contents of your cart (weight/volumetric).
• The estimated duties and VAT shown at checkout are for reference only. The final amount payable to customs is determined at the time of clearance.
• All freight is displayed in RMB; the final payment amount will be converted to your selected currency at the prevailing exchange rate.
